What Is Chromecast?

8 months ago, when we first try on Chromecast, it often had a connection drop issue, but after the latest firmware upgrade it became stable. Chromecast is a thumb-sized media streaming device developed by Google. It is a new affordable way to stream video from mobile devices to any HDTV. After plugging the dongle into a spare HDMI port, users can simply use an Android, Apple or Windows devices as a remote control, to cast supported video apps to TV screen.

What’s difference between Chromecast and Miracast?
1. Miracast is a “mirroring” solution, it supports most of the devices except Apple products. When mirroring the screen the local screen must stay turn on. The moment the phone or tablet screen turns off, the TV screen will blackout as well.

2. Chromecast acts as an antena between your TV and your streaming video app, it handles the media files and sends the output to the TV. Once the streaming task pass to Chromecast, user can turn off their local screen. For Android KitKat 4.4.2 and latest, Chromecast also supported screen mirroring solution.
