How To Transfer a .com Domain To Another Registrar?

There are many reasons to transfer from one domain to another domain registrar. Some because of better customer service experience, cheaper renewal fee or bundle with free DNS.
Puting all eggs in one basket can be risky, lately we transfer some domains from Exabytes to ServerFreak for backup purposes.
The following guide is only applicable to gTLDs (Generic top-level domains). Domain transfer requirement:
- Domain is still active.
- At least 2 weeks away from the expiration date.
- Provide us the EPP code ( Can be obtain from domain admin panel / hosting provider. )
- Admin/owner ‘s email of the domain must be active/in use. (Email asking for approval will be sent to the domain admin’s email)
- Domain is unlocked / WHOIS protection is disable.
The process to transfer a domain:
1. Login to exabytes: https://billing.exabytes.com.my/mypanel/clientarea.php
2. Manage domains

3. Disable registrar lock

4. Get EPP code

5. Sometimes the EPP code will not generate in the back-end system, instead it sends the authorization key to user email.
6. Contact ServerFreak, and then send the EPP code to support team.
7. ServerFreak will send out the invoice for domain renewal, user must at least renew one-year domain with the new registrar.
8. Along the way, user will receive an email to appoint ServerFreak as new domain registrar. User requires clicking a link to grant the permission.

9. Domain transfer takes 5 – 7 days, for successful transfer domain user will see an update on WHOIS with extended domain expiry date. To check the status kindly visit http://whois.domaintools.com/
How To Migrate A Blog From Blogger To WordPress (Self-Host)?
Patrick / Blogs / blogger, blogspot, wordpress /

Few months ago we started poxse.com at blogger, mainly because of free hosting and easy to setup. When our content keeps growing, we realize some serious limitations on blogger:
1. Individual page is limited to 1 MB in size, exceeding the limit will prompt an error message of “006 Please contact Blogger Support.”
2. 15GB of storage space shared with Gmail and Drive
3. Individual blog is limited to 100 editors or administrators.
4. Up to 2000 unique labels per blog and 20 per post.
5. On page SEO e.g. changing meta tag for individual page
6. Custom design limitations for different landing page
7. Lack of external plugin support
Due to various restrictions, we decided to migrate poxse.com from blogger to self-host WordPress. The process of  transferring our content will be shown below:
Login to WordPress Dashboard > Tools > Import

Select Blogger (blogspot.com)

Install Blogger Importer plugin

Activate the plugin

Authorise Blogger Importer to access your Google account

Allow access. Important notice: OAuth1 for Google accounts is going away on April 20, 2015, meaning the existing migration method will disable soon. After the date we will post a new guide.

Upon succeeding with the connection, select the specific blog post to import to WordPress

Press the refresh button, if the required blog did not load successfully

To discontinue the plugin to access blogger post, we can always the clear existing account information and reconnect.
